The Phi Beta Kappa Society grants a charter for a chapter to members who work at the sheltering college or university. Those members, called the chapter’s resident members, are responsible for conducting its business.
Faculty and staff of Mississippi State University who are members of Phi Beta Kappa conduct the business of the Gamma of Mississippi Chapter. Gamma of Mississippi sponsors public lectures and other academic activities on Mississippi State University’s campus, in addition to recognizing outstanding Mississippi State University students at an annual induction ceremony.
All employees of the University who are Phi Beta Kappa members are encouraged to contact the Secretary to become involved with the Chapter.
